METYX Won JEC Innovation Award 2026

METYX has won first prize in the Renewable Energy category at the JEC Composites Innovation Awards 2026 with its “Composite PV Module for Vehicles.” The project offers lightweight and durable solar energy solutions designed for vehicle integration.

METYX was awarded first place in the Renewable Energy category as part of the JEC Composites Innovation Awards 2026, one of the world’s most prestigious events in the field of composite materials.

Held annually in Paris, JEC World is recognized as the leading global meeting point for composite technologies. The JEC Innovation Awards honor the most innovative and impactful solutions developed across various industries.

Developed by METYX, the “Composite PV Module for Vehicles” introduces an innovative solar panel solution for vehicles by replacing conventional glass with advanced composite materials. Thanks to this technology, solar panels become significantly lighter, more durable, and compatible with curved surfaces.

Compared to traditional glass panels, the next-generation composite solar panel is 50–80% lighter and offers high resistance to impact and hail. At the same time, it maintains high optical transmittance to preserve energy efficiency while providing a flexible structure suitable for vehicle integration. These features make the solution a significant innovation for electric vehicles and sustainable mobility.

The award was announced on January 12, 2026, during the JEC World Premiere event in Paris. METYX CEO Mr. Besim Uğur Üstünel personally accepted the award at the ceremony.
