METYX USA is proud to be awarded a grant by the North Carolina Rural Infrastructure Authority (RIA) to support the renovation of buildings in North Carolina.  Governor Roy Copper announced the funding last week in excess of $3.7MM for 11 NC companies.  These companies will create 486 new jobs. The public investment in these projects will attract more than $32 million in private investment.

“Rural Infrastructure grants help speed up recovery across our state,” Governor Cooper said. “Stronger, more resilient buildings and water and sewer systems attract good jobs for North Carolinians and greater investment by innovative companies.”

“Through these new grants, we will help support the resiliency of North Carolina’s rural areas, so that they can attract jobs and build for the future,” N.C. Commerce Secretary Machelle Baker Sanders said. “Our Rural Economic Development Division and the RIA are proud to continue working with local communities to create the conditions for economic growth.”

Under the state’s Building Reuse Program, METYX USA was awarded a $140,000 grant to support the renovation of our 116,874-square-foot building.   METYX USA, which manufactures textile fabrics for the wind energy, construction and auto industries, plans to add additional lines to expand operations. METYX USA HR Business Partner Chris Elder and HR Manager Jane Harris stated: “We will create 24 jobs and make an investment of $4,655,000 in the next two years. We are excited to contribute to the NC community and be a part of the regional development and the growth.”
